The Snake is a reissue of a mid-’90s etnies low-top known for its wide fit and distinctive look. It features a cupsole with STI Evolution Foam midsole and a slimmed-down upper that still offers generous padding for comfort. Durable suede and leather panels, double-stitched in high-wear areas, give it excellent durability (our wear testers saw only minor wear after 10 hours ). With its wide, stable shape and improved honeycomb cushioning in the heel, the Snake delivers vintage style with modern stability and boardfeel.

Look great but run small

I’m 41 and have been skateboarding since 1996. I was pretty excited to see a Snake reissue because I remember the original black ones with white stitching so well, and always thought the wavering “snake” side panels looked so cool. I recently purchased the cream/brown/grey ones and here’s a brief review. The good: The insole comfort is a perfect match with the more slim outsole, that classic Etnies cupsole has plenty of grip and wears perfectly, the mix of double and triple stitching is an awesome touch, I really dig the classic logos on both the tongue and rear. The triple colors just look awesome…a great “natural” trio of colors.
The bad: They fit way too small…I’m a true 11 and they kind of fit like a 10.5…barely. I’m having to resort to wearing them with dress socks or just sockless. It might also be good to mention (as I can’t see it in the product description) that they’re also really pointy, so the “total outside” length may be a size 11, but the inside is far from. My toes are just jammed up in there like Vienna sausages hoping they’ll stretch out.

Cool shoes

Yeah I like them. Not as thick as I'd like but still very good.

Best Shoe For MTB

I've been putting these shoes to the test mountain biking in the Utah desert for the last month. Let me preface by saying I'm not too fond of the look of MTB-specific shoes-too dorky. So, I'm always looking for alternative products. The Snake's soles are great for hiking up ridges and sticking to the pedals. The stitching and soles have held up exceptionally well. I lace them up tight for riding, but a 'no-tie' or a 'laces tucked in the shoe' styling is great for campfire chillin'. I was camping in Virgin, Utah (Redbull Rampage sites) for 6 days; this was the only shoe I wore the whole time. The Flat sole is ideal for packing in lips and landings. The wide-body fit is nice, especially since I wear ankle braces. They also skate great, idc what these other reviews say. All my friends were like, "damn, dude, what shoes are those?" They're my Snakes, baby! I have two rn, probably gonna buy another. You should too ahah
