FAQ
What is Skate for Change?
Skate for Change is etnies’ give-back program for nonprofit and grassroots organizations using skateboarding to create positive change for young skaters. It supports these groups with gear, funding, and visibility so they can build community, teach life skills, and create safer places to ride. It’s Etnies putting action behind the culture, not just talking about it.
Where can I find size, shipping and returns help?
For the size question and order info, go straight to the Help Center. That is where etnies links out to the Size Guide, Shipping & Delivery and Returns pages, which is the safest move because policy details can vary by region.
Do etnies shoes fit true to size?
Yes. Most etnies shoes fit true to size, but the feel varies by model. Classics, puffy feeling and wide like the Kingpin, Callicut, Sal 23 and Fader , while the Jameson 2 Eco, Barge LS, and Scout are slimmer and more streamlined. If you’re between sizes, use the size guide and choose based on how tight or loose you like to skate or walk with your shoes.
How do women’s sizes convert to men’s in etnies?
etnies follow the standard footwear conversion : women’s sizing is 1.5 sizes up from men’s. If you wear a US women’s 7, start with a US men’s 5.5. If you are below a US women’s 6.5, kids sizing may work too. To find the perfect size, check the size guide and compare US, EU and UK measurements before ordering.
Which etnies shoes work best for wider feet?
If you like a roomier, more puffy fit, start with Kingpin, Callicut and Snake. Those heritage shapes carry more volume through the upper, tongue and collar. If you want a wide-feeling skate shoe without going full bulky, Marana and Fader sit in the middle.
Cupsole vs vulc: which etnies shoe should I pick?
Go cupsole if you normally skate stair set or want more impact protection and support for longer session. Go vulc if you want a lower-profile with quicker board response. In the etnies line, Marana, Fader, Kingpin and Callicut sit on the cupsole side; Barge LS and Barge Plus lean vulc; Jameson 2 Eco lands in between with a slim faux-vulc cupsole feel.
Are etnies shoes made for skateboarding?
Yes. etnies has been a skateboard footwear company since 1986, and its lineup is built by skaters, for skaters. You can expect Etnies shoes to withstand long trick sessions and provide solid impact absorption for big sets, thanks to features like reinforced toe boxes, grippy outsoles, and shock-absorbing midsoles.
What makes etnies different from other skate brands?
etnies has always approached skateboarding from the inside out. Founded in 1986 by skateboarders for skateboarders, it was built from Paris and Southern California skate roots and designed around real skate needs rather than trend cycles. That’s why the brand keeps returning to the same priorities: function, durability, purposeful style, and giving back to the culture.
Why does etnies focus so much on durability?
Because durability is literally where the brand started. Pierre-André launched etnies after blowing through shoes too fast and wanting footwear that could survive real skateboarding. That thinking still drives the line today: longer-lasting outsoles, reinforced wear zones, better cushioning and less waste when a shoe can survive more sessions.
What is included in etnies apparel?
Etnies apparel covers the everyday skate fit: tees, long sleeves, hoodies, pullovers, jackets, and bottoms, plus seasonal graphics and collab pieces. If you like the look of your shoes, you’ll love the apparel’s fit and design. The details are practical: comfortable fabrics, easy layering, and silhouettes that work on or off the board. It’s built to complement the footwear.
How does etnies apparel fit?
Most etnies apparel fits like classic streetwear: easy to wear, baggy, not ultra-tight. The smartest move is to measure your chest and waist, then compare them to the size guide. If you are between sizes, size up for a roomier skate fit or stay true to size for a cleaner everyday fit. Always check the product page, because fabric and cut can shift by style.
What kinds of accessories does etnies make?
Etnies accessories cover everything you need: backpacks, hats, belts, socks, stickers, and other small gear that completes your setup. The look stays simple and skate-rooted, with enough durability and utility for daily use. They’re the perfect gift or add-on to your order.
Does etnies make kids skate shoes?
Yes. Etnies makes kids skate shoes and everyday footwear built with the same focus on comfort, durability and style as the main line. Current kids options include models like Cresta Kids, Kids Locut and Marana Kids colorways. If you need sizing help, the size guide also notes that smaller women’s sizes may line up with kids sizing.
