The Culvert MTB is etnies’ enduro/downhill powerhouse shoe. It features a sticky Michelin compound outsole for outstanding pedal and surface grip, plus a Force Shield reinforced upper with hot-melted toe and heel caps for protection. Treated with Repel and lined with 3M Thinsulate®, it blocks moisture and cold. Tongue gussets keep debris out, and a hidden lace pocket and TPU midsole shank enhance function. Built tough yet comfortable, the Culvert MTB is made to conquer wet, rough trails with confidence.

Very functional mtb shoe. The only improvement I would make is bring back the mid version. I'd make it mid top on both sides for the sake of aesthetics. If you really wanted to make it a slam dunk, a wide (EE) offering would be greatly appreciated. And, no other manufacturer seems to make wide flat pedal mtb shoes at the moment.
Hey KP
Thanks so much for leaving us this feedback! We appreciate you highlighting the interest in a mid-top and a wide option. We'll definitely pass your suggestions along to our product team for review, as comments like yours help us improve.

This is a beefy stiff shoe that they as say in the description is meant for Enduro/down hill riding. It's a heavy stiff shoe that provides a lot of protection. The camber pros are A little bit lighter duty and more grip but not nearly as stiff or as armored.
Of all the shoes they make this would be my second pick after the camber pro. I wish they would put the new Michelin tread design on this shoe and then it might be a little better.
If you're looking for a stiff shoe with good pedal transfer and a lot of foot protection this is the best I've found when it comes to those qualities.
My first ever pair of MTB specific shoes. I have owned these for awhile now. They grip great (using pedal pins mostly). At first they did seem a little tight and stiff, they almost felt like dress shoes, even clanking on the ground like dress shoes. But after around a dozen rides they loosen up a bit and feel like they fit correct. I ordered my regular size 9.5. These are stiff because they're MTB shoes. Stiff shoes help protect you feet against impacts and also for transferring power to your pedals, which is especially important when cranking uphill. The material seems watertight and bullet-proof. I like em.
Solid shoe. All black keeps me from wearing dress shoes and when they get worn in, i kick em down to my skate shoes and order a new pair when they go on sale
To stiff. I want the yellow version
These are possible the best flat pedal shoe ive ever ridden!! Firm yet still flexible sole! The bottom is amazingly gripy, regardless of how the sole looks the colaberation with michillen was a great combination of grip and durability!!!!! Literally went from clipless pedals back to flats because of these shoes!!
