Me and my mates from Tathra at this old river mouth at home that doesn't break anymore......

You dont need your wardrobe, pack smart
5. Describe your all-around, everyday surfboard (dimensions, etc.) and why or what makes it your favorite shred stick?
6'1" x 18 1/4 x 2 1/4 round square Matt Penn insight. It's just an easy board to ride and does what I want...simple.

Where are you originally from?
Tathra NSW (Far south coast of NSW)
Where do you live now?
Tathra 50% My Car 30% Sydney 20% I spend a lot of time driving between Sydney and Tathra, they are 6 hours apart.
How and when did you start surfing?
My dad forced me to stop bodyboarding at age 12
so I started surfing
Who were you surfing with at first?
A few of my friends but mainly my old man
Who were some early influences on your surfing?
I guess again my dad and a lot of the older crew in my home town
Who do you usually surf with now (and where)?
I surf a lot with the guys on the WQS, I surf a lot with Jarrad Howse in Sydney
Do you enjoy surfing in contests?
Yeah I love competing for sure its a great personal challenge, and a great mind test
How could contests be improved?
The wqs could be moved to better surf like the wct
What is good about being a pro surfer?
Not having to do proper work, see all the different parts of the world, meeting people on your travels
What is bad about being a pro surfer?
The only thing would be the amount of time spent on planes, but that's so minor

Good bunch of people and their shoes are sick mate
What is good about surfing in general?
Just how much fun I have with all my mates
What is bad about surfing in general?
Blue bottles and stingers
Have you ever been bit or stung in the water?
Stung heaps and I had some tiny crab like creature bite me on the arm while I was waiting for a wave, it was freaky
Have you ever been the subject (or perpetrator) of localism?
Nah. I'm way to small to be a local heavy but I will admit when at home I am greedy in the surf and take a lot of waves
Where is a good place to eat?
Tamagawa in Manly - its Japanese food

Tathra clubhouse

Grant Vine, (local dude in Tathra) Kelly Slater and Mike Rommelse
What have been the highlights of your surfing career?
Doing trips to Fiji and Tahiti and making the WCT!
What do you enjoy besides surfing?
Hanging in Tathra with all my old school mates - fishing, playing golf and camping
What are your future goals in surfing, and in general?
just to be a complete surfer, be able to ride big and small waves and do all variations of all turns... eeeewwww!
