Southern California native Kyle Leeper has kept himself plenty busy skating and traveling with the etnies team for the last couple months. Tours, demos, shooting photos, filming, you name it. The simple fact is Kyle is a skate machine. Anytime, anywhere, anyhow he gets the job done.
One glimpse at Kyle's part in TransWorld's Subtleties video or his recent cover of TransWorld Skateboarding's Photo Annual and you'll know that Kyle's ability to skate obstacles in a completely unique way is what truly sets him apart from the crowd. He'll skate the same ledge, gap, pole jam, wallride or tranny as everybody else, but he'll skate it in a way everyone else hasn't. People skate ledges all the time, but it takes a truly gifted mind to, after discovering the outside of a ledge has been skatestopped, decide to skate the curved inside portion of said ledge. Regardless of the terrain, he kills it. Combine his ability to shred with a style that reminds many of a surfer, he’s able to approach, conquer and roll away from a trick smoother than most. On top of all that, he’s not the kind of guy to have a meltdown when it takes him more than two tries to land a trick. Kyle is a nice guy with a mellow attitude which is always comforting to come across in the world of skateboarding.
When Kyle isn’t killing it in previously unthought-of ways and making everyone take notice, he can be found surfing, golfing, riding bikes or tuning in to NBA League Pass to catch a basketball game or two.
With a solid part in Black Label's third video, Back in Black, already on the books and their new video, God Save the Label, about to drop, expect to be impressed with Kyle's part. We at etnies are excited to see what our future with Kyle holds. Rest assured, what you have seen thus far is just the beginning for Kyle Leeper.
