Originally from Newcastle, Australia, Chad Reed picked up two Australian National titles before heading to Europe to race the GPs and eventually onto the States to take on the AMA. Reed pulled off an East Coast SX Lites title in his first attempt and turned it into a Supercross championship in 2004. Reed consistently battled it out with none other than James Stewart and Ricky Carmichael to eventually win another Supercross crown in 2008 and since coming to America, Reed has never finished a full season outside the top 10, and only twice outside the top 5. Also in 2008 Reed teamed up with Mike Porra to develop a new national Supercross series in his home country of Australia called Super-X – Australasian Supercross Championship. Aside from managing and promoting the series, he races it as well.

In 2009, Reed took second overall in Supercross after a heated rivalry with Stewart culminated in a tense Vegas finale, where Reed tried to boot Bubba off the track. Reed went on to dominate the ’09 Motocross season, then defended his Australasian Supercross title.

2010 was off to a rocky start when Reed took two DNFs in the first two Supercross rounds. He broke his hand in Phoenix, forcing him to the sidelines for the rest of the series. Dead set on a comeback, Reed took the win in the opening moto of the 2010 MX season at Hangtown. However, it would be the highlight of the season as the the two-time Supercross champ was later diagnosed with a virus and pulled out of the 2010 Nationals, eventually finishing 11th overall.

Heading into 2011 the former Motocross World Champion has done away with the major factory teams in favor of developing his own machine. Using a Honda engine at its core, Reed will ride a bike with design elements from several different manufacturers.
