Having an older brother, who skates, can be really nice because you always have somebody to go skate with and you don't have to depend on your lazy friends...... Ianire was lucky enough to be able to skate with her brother Xabier who is one of the most well known skaters from the Basque Country.
Ianire likes to spend some time in the waves in her hometown of Bakio and when you see her skate you notice that she has a bit more flow than most of the other girls. Her flow doesn't only come from the waves but also from skating concrete parks and bowls a lot. But she is not afraid to hit the streets and actually loves skating flat.
Being a well rounded skater helps to do well in competitions and Ianire is a good example. She has won the European Skateboard Championships five times, the last three were back to back.
Her musical taste is as diverse as her skating. She lists The Beatles, Iron Maiden and The Cure as her favorite bands. Ianire is going to university a couple of hours each day and is studying to be a sports teacher.
