Product Overview

Nathan Williams worked closely with the design team to create his etnies Brake shoe; exactly what he and all the brakeless BMX riders need. The Nathan Williams Brake is a cupsole with a dual durometer rubber outsole that provides more durability so the rider doesn’t wear through it. This BMX-specific outsole features a herringbone tread pattern designed to grip pedals, but also releases when needed without tearing. A dual-density EVA shank in the midsole arch provides extra protection from the pedals without sacrificing pedal feel, while softer EVA on the toe and heel provide extra flexibility and comfort. It also has a triple-stitched overlay toe for durability and an STI Foam Level 1 cushioning footbed for support. Whew! That’s a lot of features in one pair of shoes! Also, check out Aaron Ross’ favorite BMX shoe, the Number Mid.

Well designed shoe, great looking but are very narrow fitting. I can't wear mine as my feet are too wide. When I tried them on I couldn't even walk in them, which is unusual as most trainers would stretch in time to accomodate my sasquatch like plates. I decided that the best thing to do was to give up and stop the pain.

Unfortunately I can't even wear a size up as these are still too narrow. Very sad as I really wanted these. The only advice I can offer is try a pair on first if you have more than an average width foot.

Great shoe and everything but the tread of my shoes are tearing instead of wearing and there isn't a lot of ankle protection but an good shoe other wise! And sorry to say this shoe isn't as good as I thought it would be :(

great shoe! Maybe a tip to Etnies can you make them higher like the number mid or the RVM LX. This will cause better support and protection to the ankle.

ive had this shoe for a couple of mounths now. it is great for breaking, i havent worn through the bottom yet and i have torn a whole in a pair of vans halfcabs in like 2 mounths. the down side, about one or two mounths in, a whole ripped on the side. then more wholes. i do not recomend these leather laces because i was faking and i snapped the lace haha. but overall, an alright shoe but expensive.

I bought the Dans Comp edition shoe. At first, i thought the shoe was to loose, But shortly after i broke it in, it is the comfiest shoe i have ever owned. The tread locks in every pedal.

my initial opinion of this shoe was positive (felt great, good grip, light, looked good) and I had contemplated ordering more pairs until I bruised my heel real bad trying a gap at a height of about 6 or 7 stairs. i would usually expect to at least be back on the bike within a few days if not getting up and trying again but I've been out for 10 days and am only just able to put weight on my heel with little pain. upon examining my shoes i realised the etnies logo on the left shoe makes the heel considerably harder while it is a lot softer on the right shoe where the etnies logo is missing..having bruised my right heel i am now wondering if this could be the cause as my feet more or less landed at the same time. overall a good shoe if you're not doing reasonably sized street stuff, hoping an eco-friendly vulc style shoe with cushioning and support suitable for the streets is on the horizon for etnies!!
