The etnies Brake is the first shoe ever made specifically for brakeless BMX riding. etnies pro BMX rider Nathan Williams worked closely with the design team to create the Brake shoe; exactly what he and all the brakeless BMX riders need. The Brake is a cupsole with a more durable rubber on the toe and heel of the outsole so the rider doesn’t wear through it. This BMX-specific outsole features a herringbone tred pattern designed to grip pedals, but also releases when needed without tearing. A dense EVA shank in the midsole arch provides extra protection from the pedals without sacrificing pedal feel, while softer EVA on the toe and heel provide extra flexibility and comfort. It also has a triple-stitched overlay toe for durability and an STI Foam Level 1 cushioning footbed for support.

a****@wctc.net It seems that the inside arch area in my sons shoes are wearing too quickly. I think it is the white outside rubber that is taller, so it rubs on his arch, thereby wearing thru the lining of the shoe at the arch. This in turn will wear a hole in the side of the shoe very quickly.
I personally have never spent this much on shoes before and am not sure I would again if this is what will happen. He loves the shoe, but is also concerned about the wear. He understands that it is not cost effective to need to replace something because it will wear out too soon.
My suggestion would be to put a higher arch support in the shoe to solve the problem & give more support as well. Thank you very much for listening.
