JP filled us in on his recent trip to Finland:
Nothing like starting the new year off with a beastie rail trip to Finland. Jeremy had to fall back on this trip but Seth and I hopped on a flight from SLC to meet up with Joe Sexton, Simon Chamberlain, Pierre Minhondo, and Sam to hook up with Finnish expat Lauri Heiskari and photographer/navigator Pasi Salminen. Finland was having its biggest snow season in 30 years and Pasi had already been getting down with the Eurogap 3 crew and when we got to town he bounced between crews everyday. Pretty beastie schedule on the regular as we were pulling minimum 12 hours days and when we got done with our session Pasi would hook up with the Eurogap guys catching up on sleep during each crew's set up and take down in his truck. Everyone was all going for hammers and we all got rocked a bit with Simon taking the biggest hit, packing on his back on the edge of a stair set. Dude pretty much had a hole in his back but luckily it was right near the end of the trip. We lost track of days and times as we were in perpetual darkness moving from spot to spot and tossing our carcasses at rails, wall rides, and anything we could find. Besides shredding on this trip, second up was eating, with the long days/nights with 2 sessions a day we were packing in the food sometimes doubling up on meals, 4-5 meals a day became stock.
Need to get refueled for the next session? Simon drops into a High Tower Burger
Sometimes you just gotta catch some Zs
Pulling up on curbs, changing in streets, you can do anything in Finland
