This time we hear from Thomas, who seems to be sittin' on top of the world... looking down on creation from an Applebee's:
This time I'm checking in from North Dakota, at an Applebee's to be exact! We are on our way home and decided to brave the conditions to try to get our van home that is limping through the 28 hour drive. Crossing our fingers to say the least... The show last night in Dekalb was completely awesome. It was great to see so many people, so excited, after not being there in over 4 years. I forgot how much fun playing small small places can be, when everyone in the room wants to be there. Other highlights of the last week was the last show with friends Midnight Masses, The Dear Hunter, and Thursday, whom we'd all like to thank dearly for their support and positive influence on us and everyone on the tour. Also we had a very, very beautiful day off @ UNC with some old friends that we've needed to spend some time with for an extremely long amount of time. It was a trip simply put. I have a new idea of NC after experiencing the closeness of that community and how open-minded and fun almost everyone we met seemed to be. I'll wrap this up with a quote. "The simplest things are the ones that bring the most joy, it's just hard to see if you don't take the time to pay attention to the small details in life..." - Thomas <3

Here's Frank with a word to the wise...
I've come to find that Orlando, Florida is a land of many many wonders. There is a considerable amount of "trickery" involved. All is well. Atlanta welcomed us with hella rain. Not just the kind of rain that drizzles, but rain that drizzles and plops all at the same time. There was also traffic involved. Really really bad traffic. We played the "Heaven" stage in ATL. Meat Puppets played the "Hell" stage. Apparently they kicked major tail. Geoff, from Thursday, was physically assaulted in Raleigh, NC. I literally could not believe it. It was a bummer, you know? People are super jacked up these days. We drove a lot and played a lot and we will continue to drive and play and continue. Life is good and sweet. Europa very soon!
Frank

Today's TFOT lovely weirdness brought to you by Andrew!
Hey everybody, how are you? Good. This tour has been amazing. I think I have fallen in love with every one of the bands that I didn't know about before: Moving Mountains, La Dispute, Young Widows, Touche Amore, and Midnight Masses. The last show with Thursday is tonight, and I'm bummed because they have been killing it every night. We have had really great crowds the last few days, especially last night in Atlanta. I'm looking forward to the headlining shows on the way back home since we'll get to play a bit longer sets. See you all soon, and stay weird.
-Andrew

Bike cops, bats and chowdah? Anything goes when you're on tour with The Fall Of Troy:
Austin,TX consisted of Ironworks BBQ, buy one get one free Arizona beverages and getting pulled over by a troupe of bike cops. Things got a little weird, but we wanted to see how far we could take it. We got REAL weird with it. Pensacola, FL is a quaint little town. We ate at a chowder house and went to the most intense bar ever with the most intense bartender ever. BATS! Damn! It was a good little day for all the bands to relax in one ultimate adult setting. Jacksonville terrified a lot of people, that is all. We had some trailer problems, but now we are on our way to Ft Lauderdale to catch the show.

Shay's blogging from the road now too! Read up:
It's really good to be making mems with Thomas and Frank again. I played a great game of "nightcrawlers" last night and I got a tattoo 3 days ago. The tattoo of Hobbes from Calvin & Hobbes. Frank and I watched Touche Amore last night and it was great. It's been very fun
seeing the Dear Hunter and hanging with Thursday since Seattle, but we miss La Dispute.
There's a lot of WEIRD sleep stuff going on in the van. Thomas was laughing the other day in his sleep. Frank turned the light on in his sleep and our friend Alex woke me up and tried to get me to turn it off... I failed epicly. I'm going to buy a new phone today, I'm stoked.
The kids have been coming out have been amazing and we're looking forward for the rest of our tour with Thursday and continuing onward to UK/Europe. Barbelith

This just in from Frank and Thomas!
We played The Knitting Factory in Hollywood. We met a great person in our publicist Heidi. She's great. Also, Tim from Thursday came back to play bass after taking a couple of days off. The show was amazing and nuts at the same time. After we hung out at Sargent House and had quite the time.
The show at Slims in San Francisco was personally amazing for me. I had a lot of friends come out that I hadn't seen in years which was super nice. I love San Francisco.
Playing the Glasshouse in Pomona is always an amazing experience. We had a lot of good times with everyone that came out and what not. There were a lot of cool kids and old friends I hadn't seen in a while. Always good times.

Hey all, it's Thomas. I just wanna take a few minutes to talk about the show
at Slim's in San Francisco. Awesome venue, super rad staff, and the crowd
was absolutely insane! It was totally a dance-party haven!!! Everyone was
very kind before and after the show as well, we had a really good time, as
we always do in SF. More stuff to come from us here on etnies.com. Peace and
love! - Thomas

Today we heard from Frank after a night of music and celebration. Yesterday marked the release of The Fall Of Troy's new album, In The Unlikely Event:
The Seattle show was great and super high energy. We partied with our great friends in La Dispute but we gained a new friend in Touche Amore and very old friends in The Dear Hunter. The Seattle show was also our "CD release" show which was also great. The new record is great and it's amazing to get such a warm response towards the new songs. Every band played incredibly well. The Portland show was fun as well. We ate Greek and American food and drank ginger ales. All in all, good times.

The Fall Of Troy are on tour now and checking in from the road. Peep their new band bio and check back all month long for updates, pics and vids from all over the U.S.! And now, here's Thomas with the first of many:
Lawrence Kansas was a treat. I had a nice time walking around Massachusetts street before the show. Ate at Jimmy Johns which always makes me happy and then went back to watch La Dispute who have been blowing the stage and kids' minds to bits each night. Our set started out with some people looking very puzzled but soon enough they turned to smiles. The crowd was great and I had a very fun show. I'm looking forward to Denver tonight, as we have played there tons of times and the crowd should be awesome.
