Adam Baker just sent some pics of him and the T1 crew in Colorado:
It is funny how all great road trips start with a main plan and then it's just all kind of up in the air. This trip was no exception. Joe (Rich) and I had been talking for months about meeting up during a T1 road trip in the Rockies. After days of trying to get a hold of Joe, I finally did, (cell phones don’t work for shit in most of the Rockies and Joe’s had some how failed) we decided to meet in a little town of Rifle. I ended up driving almost 4 hours thinking to myself how three inches on a map sure was a long way. Nevermind the long drive, it was almost a full moon and the shadowed images of the massive mountains was more than enough to keep me occupied.
I met the T1 dudes in a Wal-mart parking lot and quickly we were on out way to get out of town and find a camping spot. After hours, we found a crowded camping spot and spent most of the night catching up and enjoying some 3.2% beer.
Next morning we had breakfast at a nice little hometown café and then got on the local park. The T1 crew got rad. Joe filmed and I took a nap under a tree. Next up was one of Joe’s favorites - the Carbondale Park. Joe ripped around park so fast and did a loop in the full pipe, Tommy Dugan went real high on quarter and made me laugh real hard, Danny did crazy tech stuff a hundred times in a row and other Joe also got upside down in the full pipe. The high point of the day was by far the sunset on Mount Sopris... Which did not look at all like it was real. From there it was off to camp again.
This time around I decided to sleep in my car so I didn’t wake up soaking wet like I did the night before. And it was a good thing that I did sleep in my car. I woke up in the middle of the night to a mountain lion going through my camping bag. It was definitely the craziest thing that I have ever woken up too!
The rest of the trip was the usual - laughing, good times and bike riding.
I wish I had more photos to share but I guess that I was too busy laughing and saying the amazing phrase “bitches and money” ha ha ha ha
Enjoy, Adam
