Sad day at the Skatepark

Jul 8 2011 / Friday

etnies found out that the City of Lake Forest banned BMX at the skatepark yesterday. The etnies Skatepark of Lake Forest is managed and run by the City of Lake Forest, not by etnies or etnies personnel. This decision was made by the City of Lake Forest, completely outside of the control and without the consent of etnies, and we are following up with the City of Lake Forest to see if this decision can be overturned.

The etnies brand is NOT in favor of this decision and etnies continues to support BMX by sponsoring team riders, putting on pro team tours, supporting rider training facility’s like The Bakery, and building BMX specific product. etnies has supported BMX since 1995, and the brand was one of the first shoe companies in the action sports community to embrace BMX by providing footwear to meet their specific needs.

  2. That sucks! what a sad day. BMX and a skatepark go together like peanut butter and jelly. I hope they reconsider. Keep us posted.

  3. More information on why the city decided to ban the bmx bikes from the park.
It's hard to make a judgment call on something like this with not having more information on how/ why the city is making this decision.

If it's a safety issue or insurance not covering the bmx'ers then this should be state.
    Anyway, good luck with this.

  7. i just read an article the other day in which Pierre, the owner of Etnies claimed he wanted all the bike trails turned into skate trails. This is kinda contradicting.

  8. if you really want to show how strongly you oppose the bike ban, revoke all funding to the park.

  9. Etnies doesn't fund the skatepark the city of lake forest does
