Part 2, Belgium:
Moooore beer!
We were a bit sad when our time in Germany came to an end, but we knew that Belgium had a few things in store to cheer us up and our first stop was the Namur Skatepark. Lack of sleep and kids on bikes, blades, flowboards and lawnmowers kept the session from really going off so we left Namur after a quick urban picnic and headed on to Kortrijk—home base for the next four days. The Cruysberghs invited us to a delicious pancakes breakfast at their house (thought waffles are the Belgian specialty?) and we skated the Poperinge spots on a sugar high that lasted all day. Before hitting Zumiez for a Friday evening session, a quick trip to the supermarket to buy the Poperinge Hommel beer that inspired Axel’s shoe was mandatory. After that our diet consisted mostly of concrete. Oostende gave us a healthy dose of the grey stuff. We also enjoyed the free bikes that are available next to the skatepark and even got to spend a few minutes on the beach The last stop in Belgium was the Mechelen DIY park. A truly inspiring place and great example of what a group of motivated skaters and an open-minded city are able to create.
Not sure what my favorite thing in Belgium was. The beer does taste good, but the concrete parks are hard to beat …

It's clear spraypaint. The synthetic resin kind you can get at your local DIY store.
