“It was the fourth annual Nixon High Tide Hold’em, and although I’ve been part of Nixon since the inception, this was my first time on the trip. I’d been to Tavarua before but this trip was definitely the best one so far. I didn’t feel quite ready for the waves the place is so famous for as I was just coming off my winter filming project and only had a few days of paddling around before I left. The stacked roster of Nixon’s surf team and a few other standouts had me a bit nervous too, but I came back alive with some good stories and I’m already looking forward to the next one…”
