Los Angeles, Calif., Aug. 21, 2009 – Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC) announces the return of the fifth annual “Skate the Lake” and third annual “Skate the Coast” promoting and benefiting breast cancer awareness and education. Skate the Lake will take place on Sat., Aug. 29, 2009 beginning at 7 a.m. at the West Shore of Lake Tahoe, California. Skate the Coast will follow on Sat., Oct. 24, 2009 beginning at 8 a.m. from the Santa Monica Pier.

This years events are proudly supported by B4BC partners Skullcandy and etnies. registration is $25 and participants are encouraged to contribute and/or raise additional funds to benefit the B4BC Foundation. The top fundraiser at each event will be awarded a custom B4BC longboard deck and other prizes. Go to active.com/donate/skatethelake to make a donation or create a fundraising page for the cause.

“We have so many young people participate that have been affected by this disease,” said B4BC Outreach Director Blair Young. “So it’s a really great opportunity for them to get involved with our efforts. It’s not a race, everyone supports each other, and we all have a blast and skate for the cause.”
