Axel has been a regular visitor of the etnies ESC for the last few years, time for a little chat.

Hi Axel, how are you?
Not bad, I injured my arm last week

What happened?
I fell bad on my arm, it's not broken but the bone is cracked....

This the 9th time of the ESC in Basel, how many times have you been here?
So far it's my 5th time at the etnies ESC in Basel.

What's the difference between this years ESC and the first one you've been to?
There are more skaters every year, more skaters from Belgium as well. Also the level of skateboarding is getting higher every year!

Axel at the etnies ESC 2009 - feeble 180 out

How did you do at the earlier ESC's?
The first year didn't go to well but last year I ended up on a 3th place!

How do you like the streetcourse this year?
The course this year is different from other years, the years before there were some small obstacles and one big one. This year there are only small ones so you need to set up your lines differently, but I like it!

This year is the 9th edition of the ESC, next year it's going to be the 10th year anniversary, you're you going to be part of that?
Absolutely!
