July 2009 marks the launch of Gear For A Year, presented by etnies, Foundation, Silver Trucks, Pig Wheels, Quiksilver, Nixon, Skatepark of Tampa, The Skateboard Mag and Shred or Die. Nine brands combined together to put together what could be the biggest prize for an unsponsored skater possible. People can submit their two minute "sponsor me" video on shredordie.com to win the opportunity of a lifetime; one years worth of product from six brands, automatic entry and flight to Tampa Am, and a photo in the Skateboard Mag. Additional prizes include a second and third place flow package from all nine brands, and individual prizes from each sponsoring brand.
