Well, he did it. Jamie O'Brien took advantage of his free start in the IBA's Turbo Bodyboards Pipeline Pro. Yes, I said bodyboards.
For reasons not exactly clear to me, the pro surfer was granted a start in the bodyboarding competition. And that's about all he was granted. After Day 1, Jamie will not be moving on to the next round but he promises to be back next year. Something tells me he's not beating himself up over this one.
