July - Brett wins the 2009 US Open in his hometown of Huntington Beach...
and collects the biggest prize purse in surfing.
September - Simpo wins Surfer Poll's Award for Breakthrough Surfer of the year
December - Brett secures his spot on the 2010 ASP Tour after a strong showing at Sunset and is now officially after his first World Title!
