We'd like to congratulate etnies Snow team rider Markku Koski of Team Finland, who earned a 41.5 score and the bronze medal in the Men’s Halfpipe Finals at the 2006 Winter Olympics! On Sunday afternoon, Bardonecchia, Italy was sunny, the halfpipe was perfect and the level of riding was incredible.
Markku’s first run in the Finals consisted of a perfectly styled air to fakie, a smooth Cab 1080 to frontside 900, a backside 540 to a fronstide 700, and a clean Cab 900. That run earned him a 41.5 score and the bronze, which fulfilled his dream of obtaining the first Olympic medal of his snowboarding career.
“It was amazing to be there and watch Markku Koski obtain his dream of winning an Olympic medal,” said Brian Cook, Brand Marketing Manager for ThirtyTwo.
