The McGrath Invitational

The inaugural Jeremy McGrath Invitational went on over the weekend and it was definitely different than anyone had ever seen in a Supercross race. Two 16’ wide freestyle ramps on the course were the biggest changes and made for some interesting first lap battles and some HUGE upside-down whips!

Sobe/Samsung’s Josh Grant was by far the fastest 250F out there, matching the lap times of his teammate Kevin Windham, who swept the event. On both nights Josh took second place to his teammate in the head-to-head racing. Night two saw Josh in a heated head-to-head battle with David Vuillemin for a spot in the final. In the first turn DV almost parked Grant in the first corner and took the lead. Grant stayed right on DV’s tail the entire race... until the last corner when Josh got him back with and aggressive pass and took the WIN!

Josh, underpowered vs. the 450F’s on his 250F, got mediocre starts on both night's Supercross main events and had to work his way to the front. Night one Josh took second to K-Dub and finished just ahead of etnies’ Nick Wey in third.
During qualifying for night two, Nick Wey had a crash in the back rhythm section and (I think) separated his shoulder and had a slight concussion.
Josh Grant took third place in the main event on night two and made a sh!t load of $$$ over the weekend! Congrats!
