Houston Supercross

May 2 2005 / Monday

The Houston Supercross went down this weekend as scheduled and it was Bubba who came out of it with the win. In 250 heat one Chad Reed and Bubba were battling back and forth for a few laps pushing each other to a blistering pace when Reed went down trying to go inside on Bubba. Bubba ended up going over the bars in the whoops a couple turns later and was forced to qualify in the semi. Reed recovered and got second behind Windham for a spot in the main event.

In the 250 main it was Bubba, Reed and Carmichael up front from the start. Reed was right behind Bubba and ready to battle it out with him but Chad’s pace got slowed down a bit from Carmichael challenging for second. By the time Reed had opened a gap on Carmichael he was already too far behind Stewart to make up the gap. Chad got second.
