“My Bloody Valentine,” the second girls-only skate contest organized by Wicked Wahine, was rained out last weekend, and will now take place this upcoming Sunday, Feb. 27. The event will be held at noon in Huntington Beach, Calif., at skateboard manufacturer Kelly Bellmar’s legendary backyard pool. Typically reserved for top male skaters, and known for being extremely difficult to skate, Bellmar’s pool will be open to some of the best female skaters in the world—including Cara-Beth Burnside, Julia “Juwels” Bauer and Mimi Knoop—who will be competing for cash prizes, awards and, most of all, respect. The event is free to spectators and open to the public, although capacity is limited to around 175.
