Wow does time fly. It's already February and it feels like the season is only getting better. 42 days left of winter and then...Spring Madness! Reports have been coming in that the Northwest and West Coast of Canada is getting dumped on! Wicked-eh! In other ThirtyTwo news here's what's going down with the team...
John and Eric Jackson can't be stopped! They've been in the backcountry killing it with the Standard film crew. John's been stomping everything in his sight and now they're both headed to Lake Tahoe to compete in a contest called P.I.G. Riders will randomly be picked to start off by doing a trick and each rider after that will have to stomp the trick in order to stay in the game. Immediately following the P.I.G. contest, both Eric and John will compete in the Vans cup scheduled February 11-13.
Markku Koski has been filming with the Standard crew for the last couple of weeks. He flew in from Europe, had a rough flight over, and dove right into some heavy conditions. Just last week he went off a jump, came up short and unfortunately chipped a couple of his teeth. He's doing okay for the moment but will have to get checked out from a dentist. He'll continue to film as much as possible this week and then he'll be heading to Tahoe to compete in the Vans cup. Markku will be heading to Japan after the contest to compete in the Nippon Open.
Speaking of Japan... (Simaseh...) Tyler Lepore will be heading to Japan this week to film with the Oakley project (Title still unknown). He'll be there for a couple of weeks and then joining some of the other ThirtyTwo team riders to attend the Boot Camp in Utah with the rest of the ThirtyTwo crew.
Benji Ritchie recently took off for Switzerland where reports have been coming in positive with the snow fall. He'll be in Europe with the White out crew causing some major havoc. Benji also plans on heading to Utah next week to join the ThirtyTwo squad at Boot camp 3.
Wille Yli-Luoma recently left the states after banging out a bag full of tricks and clocking in some serious backcountry hours with Mack Dawg films. He took advantage of the massive amount of snow while it lasted and now he's headed to Europe to slaughter the Alps. He's uncertain of his next destination? Stay tuned for more details...
