The story or my life: A day late, a buck short...or maybe it's more like a week late, an inch short? Whatever...here's the team report!

Mike Escamilla rode a little with his friend and parts sponsor Brian Castillo. The trip Mike had previously been scheduled to be involved with to Tahiti has been postponed for a little while because Tahitian Government employees have gone on strike for some reason, he should be leaving by the end of this week. Mike’s heel is still bruised some but he’s going to try riding but with recent snow activity in the mountains so he may have to head up there to get some snowboarding in.
Taj Mihelich has been playing a lot of music with his band. They have been recording and putting an EP together, plus the band also got accepted to next years South by Southwest show that comes to Austin every year. He’s been riding a bunch, shooting photos for a possible etnies ad, and he has also been filming with Stew Johnson for possible footage for the upcoming etnies video. Taj has an interview coming up in issue 50 of DIG BMX magazine. Sunday night was spent watching a bunch of hot girls doing roller derby and beating the crap out of each other. Check out Taj’s shoe, the Roscoe.
Ruben Alcantara left for Australia last week and will be down there until the December 18. He rode in a mini ramp contest this past weekend but didn’t ride as well as he had hoped. Ruben’s shoe the Terranea is in stores now.
Jamie Bestwick spent last week at home in State College with his wife Kerry and son Samuel, he will be heading to Dubai today to do some demo’s for ESPN.
Morgan Wade spent last week cruising up to Cleveland in preparation for the final contest at Chenga Skatepark in North Ridgeville...the park will be closing in January. Morgan placed third behind Mike Brancato in second and Dorrito in first place. Morgan returned home to Tyler, Texas today where he will be trying to get over what he thinks is strep throat.
Sergio Layos spent the beginning of the week at home in Madrid where he checked out the Fly Bikes video premier in Malaga. He then headed to Australia mid-week where he competed in a mini ramp contest over the weekend and finished in first place! He also rode at a small skatepark jam on Sunday. Sergio returns home on December 19 to spend time with his family.
Joe Rich has been working hard at T1 as well as riding the ramp out back with everyone, including etnies teammates Taj Mihelich, Sandy Carson and Danny Hickerson. Joe has also been filming some, as well as shooting photos. Joe did have a last minute trip planned to go to Panama this week to help out with the building of some dirt jumps, but for whatever reason the trip got cancelled. But Joe isn’t too bummed as he will be heading over to the brand new cement skatepark in Austin to kill that thing as much as possible during some early morning sessions.
Josh Stricker spent last weekend in England hanging with his girl and the Seventies crew before returning back to the US on Sunday. Josh will be heading down to Austin ASAP. Josh’s interview in RIDE BMX rules!
John Heaton rode outside a bunch last week before it decided to snow, so he headed to Tacoma to ride an indoor park there. John’s been doing his time at 3Ride as well as getting some hockey in. He did a little Christmas shopping and hung out with his dog Frank.
Check out ^ Heaton's new hero shot on his team page.
Dave Freimuth heads to Florida this Thursday to shoot and film for UGP, he’s pretty stoked seeing as how it’s been really, really cold in Appleton! Dave’s stoked right now also since the Square One team are in town, so he has some fresh blood to shred with at Area 51 skatepark. He’s going to be filming everything that he has ever wanted to film seeing as the park will be closing its doors for good on December 31. Check out Dave’s interview in the coming issue of RIDE UK.
Garrett Byrnes has been enjoying (sarcasm alert) the snow that Beachwood, New Jersey just received, which makes his commute to work such a joy! Garrett’s been hitting the indoor sessions at the Incline Club skatepark as well as some trail sessions prior to the bad weather.
Sandy Carson has been filming with Stew Johnson for footage for the etnies video. He was also out shooting pics of Taj for a possible etnies ad as well as get shots for Taj’s interview in issue 50 of DIG BMX. Sandy has also been riding the 9th street trails a bunch and the Banana Farm ramp that they had a BBQ at this past weekend. The weather has been pretty awesome lately, so any opportunity to be outside has been taken advantage of. The new cement skatepark in Austin just had its grand opening on Saturday; the crowds were too crazy so riding it will have to wait till the early morning sessions. Sandy also needs to throw away the copy of “Dirty Deeds” that he owns because it is embarrassing for his Team Manager who hates having to hear about it every time someone watches it.
