Mike Escamilla has been working real hard on RIDE magazines next video production “Living in Exile” which he has a part in. Mid week Mike headed out to Las Vegas to attend Interbike and check out the NORA Cup Awards that went down on Thursday night.
Ruben Alcantara was out in California for a while after coming back from Oregon on his one man road trip before heading out to Vegas to check out Interbike and hang out at the etnies and Fly Bikes booth. Saturday morning Ruben, Joe Rich, Sandy Carson, Garrett Byrnes and Stew Johnson headed out on a week long filming trip, traveling through Colorado back to Austin.
Taj Mihelich spent the earlier part of the week at home before finally figuring out he could get a dog sitter for Roscoe so that he could fly to Vegas, attend Interbike, and ride the “Let it Ride” contest. Taj rode so-so but riding some crappy ramps didn’t really seem like his thing, but he did manage to sweat his nuts off extensively though.
Jamie Bestwick is home in State College after moving his wife and baby back to England. Jamie has been riding a bunch preparing for the final event in the Dew Action Sports series as well as getting ready for the etnies Backyard Jam. In his spare time he has been tiling and painting his new house. Jamie got second place behind Morgan Wade for Ramp Rider of the Year at the NORA Cup.
Sergio Layos spent the last few weeks at home in Madrid before getting a last minute invite to the “Let it Ride” contest in Vegas. He also attended Interbike and hung out at the etnies booth and Fly Bikes booth. Sunday Sergio headed up to Vancouver to hang out for a while.
Joe Rich has been busting his ass getting the T1 booth ready for Interbike as well as getting all the new product ready. Vegas is always crazy and this one was no different. Sunday Joe, Sandy Carson, Garrett Byrnes, Ruben Alcantara and Stew Johnson headed out for a filming and photo trip through Colorado heading back to Austin.
Morgan Wade is one busy mofo! After spending a few weeks out in Cali hanging with good friend Gary Young riding and learning all kinds of crazy stuff, Morgan headed out to Vegas to attend Interbike and also to throw himself to the floor numerous times at the “Let It Ride” contest at the Hard Rock. He placed fifth in both dirt and park contests and actually got one of the highest scores of the day on dirt but the way they did the crazy elimination process he got knocked out of the contest. Morgan is heading home for some well deserved rest. Morgan was crowned as Ramp Rider of the Year as well as winning the Video Part of the Year at the 2005 NORA Cup Awards this past Thursday in Vegas.
Remember that sequence of Morgan at the top of the page? Well scroll up and check it out again! Thanks to Dillon Hass for the bitchin photo. Ya, I said "bitchin".
Josh Stricker has been out in Cali for the last couple weeks; he spent last week out at Interbike in Vegas hanging at the etnies and S&M booths. Josh placed second for Video Part of the Year at the NORA Cup's on Thursday night. Check out the Josh Stricker interview in the next issue of RIDE BMX.

Garrett Byrnes has been working hard at his job at home in New Jersey. He flew out to Vegas to hang out before going on the little road trip with teammates Joe Rich, Ruben Alcantara, Sandy Carson and filmer Stew Johnson.
Sandy Carson was home in Austin the beginning of the week working hard on the next issue of DIG BMX as well as his web site. He was also out in California helping etnies videographer Mike Manzoori work on the etnies DVD. He headed out to hang at Interbike before heading out on the road trip with everyone else.
