Moto-X Team Report 08-02-04

Aug 2 2004 / Monday

Chad Reed finished last weekend's MX National at Washougal, Washington with another 2nd place overall. He went 2-2 behind Carmichael. Chad is now back at home in So Cal and testing for the SuperMoto event at X Games this coming Sunday, which will be held at the Home Depot center in LA at 1:00 p.m.

Grant Langston is out for the rest of the MX National Series along with Tim Ferry, due to injuries not healing properly. Most moto-x riders usually try to come back from injury before they are healed properly, usually leading to problems soon after they start racing again (which happened to Grant and Tim).

Tommy Hayden is leading the Championship points race in the Supersport series. His brother Roger Lee is in 2nd place in points, only 13 behind his big bro. Third place is 51 points behind Roger Lee with two rounds left. Tommy is in 3rd place and only four points out of the lead for the Superstock title with two rounds to go in that series.

Brian Deegan, Chad Reed, Grant Langston, Tommy Hayden and Nicky Hayden were all invited to ride the SuperMoto event at X Games. Neither of the Hayden brothers will be racing the event.

Brian Deegan rode the jump demo at the Huntington Beach surf contest this weekend. Brian and Ronnie Faisst had a wrestling match on the beach right after.

Surfcross is going down tomorrow with a race at Starwest, followed by a surf event at San Onofre on Wednesday.
