Etnies Snow Team Report 06-16-04

Jun 16 2004 / Wednesday

Summer is just around the corner and most of the riders are either training with their physical therapists or getting ready to get their Summer shred on. Just to give everyone a heads up on current team news, here's a little update.
Dionne Delesalle has been concentrating on physical therapy for the last few months, rehabilitating his knee. He reported that he's doing well and plans to head up to the Summer camps to take some turns. He's been busy collecting his video coverage and editing his part for the new release of Positron (a White Out Production film) scheduled to be released in early Fall. Dionne will spend most of his Summer in Canada, but also plans to hit a little European tour in mid-Summer for a few weeks to visit friends and family.
Nicolas Droz continues to dominate the Swiss Alps. He recently reported that he's been having one of his best seasons filming and shooting photos. He'll be one of the main riders featured in Absinthes Films new effort, scheduled to be released in early Fall. The title of the film has not been announced. Nico plans to hit-up a couple of Summer camps like Les Due's Alps and, unfortunately, will have to venture to Hawaii where he'll be editing his video part. Yes, Hawaii҅
John Jackson made the journey down from Crowley Lake to etnies last week to attend an in-house studio photo shoot. He plans to do some Summer shredding in Alaska with Standard Films sometime this month. John's been slaving away all season long to capture the best footage for another banger part. Be sure to check John and Eric (his younger brother) in Standard Films new release of Lost in Transition in early Fall.
Markku Koski is still nursing a broken wrist. He'll start physical therapy right after he gets his cast taken off. Markku will have a full part in Standard FilmsҒ latest movie, scheduled to be release in the Fall during the ASR trade show in San Diego. Markku should have quite a bit of coverage coming out this Fall / Winter. So far, he's scheduled to be featured in a Finnish (not finished, but Finnish) story in TransWorld and Snowboarder, and possibly an interview.
Tyler Lepore has been busy working on graphics for his board sponsor, as well as T-shirt graphics for Snow Style Japan. He recently purchased a house in West Vancouver, but will keep a place in Whistler for the Winter. Tyler'll be busy for the early part of the Summer, moving in and getting settled. Congratulations to Tyler on being a new homeowner!
Roberta Rodger just got back from her European tour with her board sponsor. She'll be in Southern California to take a little break and then head up to Canada to be a guest coach at Camp of Champions. She'll also be a guest coach at HCSC in Mt. Hood, Oregon.
Kevin Sansalone has been back and forth from Whistler to Vancouver, taking care of business. He's been working hard with his physical therapist to strengthen his knee, as well as editing his latest movie. Kevin will also appear in White Out Films Positron, scheduled to be released this Fall.
Joni Makinen recently made it back to Finland after being on the road hitting up Summer camps in Europe. He'll take a few weeks off and then go to a couple of more Summer camps in France.
Janna Meyen reported that she's training every day, getting better, and feels very excited about next season. She's focused on getting back on track and dominating the world.
Alexis Waite recently purchased a new house in Bend, Oregon. She's been signing her life away for the last couple of weeks, dealing with the escrow and bank contracts, so she's going on a little get away with her family to Hawaii, where she'll be soaking in the warm weather. Alexis will be back just in time for the etnies / ThirtyTwo R&D testing trip and photo shoot toward the end of this month in Mt. Hood.
Wille Yli-Luoma is taking some time off to relax and spend quality time with his daughter back in Sweden. He'll be home for the next couple of weeks and then plans on heading to Portland, Oregon, where he'll spend a few weeks editing his part with Mack Dawg Films, as well as attend the etnies R&D meeting with Joe Curtes later this month. Be sure to check out the new release of Mack DawgҒs film in early Fall during the ASR trade show in San Diego.
Upcoming Events
June 30 - July 2 etnies / ThirtyTwo R&D / photo shoot, Mt. Hood, Oregon
June - August Summer camps: Mt. Hood, Oregon / Whistler, BC, Canada / Europe
That's it for now. Stay tuned...
