Snow Team Report 03-22-04

Mar 24 2004 / Wednesday

Dionne Delesalle
has been hitting up the backcountry for the last couple of weeks. He reported that filming is going extremely well and he's sitting on plenty of footage. Dionne will be trying to get on the alternate list at the Boost Mobile contest this weekend.

Nicolas Droz
continues to kill it filming for Absinth Films and shooting photos with staff photographers from TransWorld and OnBoard. Nico will continue to film and shoot photos in Europe.

John Jackson
has been filming with Standard Films back and forth from Tahoe to Mammoth. He made the alternate list at the Boost Mobile of Snowboarding. John will be sitting in the second alternate spot ready to get his shred on.

Markku Koski
will be in Europe for the next couple of weeks and then plans on heading back to the States to film with Standard Films for the rest of the Spring.

Tyler Lepore
has been shredding in the Whistler backcountry, shooting photos and filming. He's also made it on the alternate list at the Boost Mobile of Snowboarding.

Joni Makinen
recenlty got back from a two-week trip in Europe, where he was shooting photos with Nick Hamilton (TransWorld Snowboarding Photo Editor). Joni will be making his way to the States next weekend to attend the Snowboarders Super Park and film a little bit for the Love/Hate film project.

Janna Meyen
had been on a crazy roll, but she unfortunately came up short on a jump recently and landed pretty flat, taking a lot of the impact on her knee. She'll be having an MRI to see what's going on, but she said she'll be back with a vengeance.

Kevin Sansalone
spent last weekend in Tahoe for the TransWorld Team Challenge. He said he had a blast and everyone had positive things to say about the course. He'll be in Whistler for the next couple of weeks and then he plans on heading to Snowboarder's Super Park.

Alexis Waite
will be staying on the East Coast until the BMS schedule starts this Friday. She'll be participating in both the Big Air and the Rail Jam events. Good luck, Lexi!

Wille Yli-Luoma
has been filming with Mack Dawg, bouncing back and forth from Salt Lake, Utah to Oregon and Tahoe. He will be heading to Chicago for the BMS later this week.

Roberta Rodger
just got back form an awesome trip to Japan with Hammer. They started off in Hakuba for the Hammer Cup, where they did a demo and handed out awards to the winners of the contest. Then they spent four days riding in Hakuba at Yanaba and Hakuba47, shooting in awesome weather with Vianney Tisseaux and Momoko from Snowboarder Japan, who is writing a story on the trip. Next up was a day of shopping in Tokyo, which, of course, was awesome! The crew also stopped by TransWorld Japan to meet with the Editor and Photo Editor. Then came Gifu, to attend a demo day where people could ride all of next year's boards. The weather wasn't the best, but our crew did a demo on a jump and helped coach a snow clinic, which the Japanese were the most stoked on. They really do things differently over there. They had a little kicker, then a gap to a rectangular snow box set-up for the clinic. It was so weird, but pretty fun. Of course, the Japanese are so nice and very appreciative of any help you give them. They definitely get stoked! The trip ended back in Tokyo for one last quick shopping trip. Roberta had an awesome time, but was definitely stoked to be home resting after all the trains and traveling in Japan. She's home for the next week, then off to Tahoe for Shannon's Pajama photo shoot.

Upcoming Event

March 26 - 27 Boost Mobile of Snowboarding, Chicago
