Over the weekend, etnies rider Carlos De Andrade put together some flawless skateboarding to cement a 1st place finish in the street event at the X Box World Championships of Skateboarding in Oceanside, California.
No stranger to the pressure of huge skateboarding contests, Carlos pulled-off a come-from-behind victory at this years X Box with a little help from a great cheering section in the stands. Friends of both Carlos and the etnies family (affectionately known as ғthe Brazilian cheering squad) cheered him on as the Brazil native represented hard with some solid, powerful runs.
With a few missed tricks and a tough slam to his arm in his first run, Carlos came back to put together an incredibly imaginative and consistent line throughout the street course for his second. Connecting switch tricks (including a huge switch 180 over the fun box) into regular (feeble and Smith grind variations on the flat bar on the other side) throughout his second run, CarlosԒ skating earned him a 1st place finish and a fat check for $18,500, as well as the screaming accolades of the crowd.
etnies would like to congratulate Carlos on another great win, and wish him continued success for 2003! Congrats, Carlos!
