Etnies Battle Stazione Centrale Milan, Italy

Sep 17 2003 / Wednesday

Since 1995, etnies has been successfully organizing skateboarding events throughout Europe. We are very proud to announce the first international skateboarding competition in one of the best indoor parks in Europe, the Morgan etnies Skatepark at the Stazione Centrale in Milano. This skatepark was originally constructed for the World Cup event in Innsbruck, Austria and now has a new home in Milan, Italy.

The very best skateboarders from all over Europe are competing to become the winner of the first Etnies battle and the prize money of 5000 Euro. Some of the best European riders are coming to Milan to compete in the first etnies Battle: Twenty-three-year old pro Daniel Cardone from Cesena, twenty-four year-old Guy Kmpfen from Switzerland and nineteen-year old Dominik Dietrich from Austria--currently the official European street champion and one of the top favorites to win this event.

Saturday is qualification day. Everybody receives two forty-five second runs, the best of the two runs counts. Head-to-head finals of the top sixteen riders are on Sunday. This is a new format: two riders skate at the same time for two minutes. The five judges will then decide who is going into the next round until only the two best skateboarders are left to battle for 1st place.
