BMX Team All Over The Place

May 14 2003 / Wednesday

Rooftop and Edwin Delarosa just got back from the Samurai trip. Check back soon for the full story. Edwin actually filmed a Fat Joe music video in the Bronx before he left on the trip. Edwins birthday was on Sunday May 11, he is nineteen years old.

Taj Mihelich has been at home riding the T1 ramp, streets and the Ninth Street trails. ItҒs been hotter than hell in Austin, so sessions are reserved for the evenings. Taj has been working at T1, putting on rock shows every two weeks at the Ritz and has been getting ready for a road trip that will take him to The La Revolution contest in Binghamton, New York, as well as Jamie Bestwicks Good Times contest in Columbus Ohio and the Props Mega Tour in the Northeast U.S. He will be taking Roscoe on the whole trip.

Joe Rich, Ruben Alcantara, Nate Wessel and Garrett Byrnes are currently chilling in Barcelona. They previously had trouble with a van they bought for the European leg of the tour and got stranded in a beach town. At first, this seemed like a nightmare, but it eventually turned out to be a blessing in disguise since they got to lounge on the beach for four days. Ian Morris and Paul Buchanan fly in on May 13 to hang out with the crew. They found this one city park that had been seemingly designed with skating in mind, because the whole park had pathways with trannies and ledges around the outside. Joe's shoulder has been feeling way better. He has been riding, but taking it easy. Check out the Ruben ad in TransWorld and RIDE BMX. Joe shot both pictures.

After years of waiting and going through all kinds of nightmares to get it, Sandy Carson has finally received his green card from the INS! No one can give him crap anymore and he can now move freely around the world and not stress about getting back into the U.S. Congrats, Sandy! Besides getting his freedom, Sandy has been riding the T1 ramp, the Ninth Street trail with Taj, as well as hitting the streets, keeping sessions in the evenings due to the heat. Sandy has also been taking photos of anything and everything and working on DIG BMX.

Jason Enns has been home in Vancouver enjoying the fruits of his skatepark freedom up there, shooting footage for the next Ride BMX video. He has also been shooting photos with Brian Castillo from Volume Bikes. Jason has been working at the bike store making mad cash. His birthday was the same day as EdwinҒs on Sunday May 11, but the difference between the two is that Jason is old.

Dave Freimuth has been gone for a week-and-a-half on the Baco Tour throughout Florida. The stops were at the Skatepark of Tampa on May 7, the Park of Ocala on May 9, Mission Skatepark (Chad Degroot's park) on May 10 and the Paradise Funplex in Merrit Island on May 11. All of the stops enjoyed decent attendance, even though a couple of the parks didnt really advertise it that well. Etnies hooked up the trip with goodies to give away at each stop.

John Heaton just got back from his European trip. HeҒs kinda been chilling a bit and enjoying the better weather up in Toronto by sessioning some outdoor parks. John will be rocking it for etnies at the Global X-Games on May 15-18 in San Antonio, Texas. He has still been trying to wrap-up last-minute video shooting for MacNeil Bikes, even though the final deadline has passed. John has also moved into a new place with his girlfriend.

Nate Hanson has been doing the usual working at Primo / TIP finalizing their new catalog, working on his truck (as well as his brother's), riding at Primo and shredding the streets.

Brian Terada drives too fast. He has received four speeding tickets--the same amount of months he has owned his Acura. Brian has been riding a bunch and finding new spots to film for etnies commercials. Whether it be at Skate Street, pools or the streets, Brian has definitely been putting in some overtime. Skate Street will present the Kink Bikes video premiere this Saturday night. Besides all of the above, Brian has also been working at the bike store.
