Back From Slam City

May 12 2003 / Monday

Mike V
just got back after being gone for two weeks to Australia, followed by the last contest that he'll skate in, Slam City Jam. Before the event, Mike announced that this would be the last contest that he was going to skate in. He also put on his usual show for the kids throwing his body down ridiculous stuff. Mike V--forever the showman!

Chris Lambert
spent some time out in Boston early last week and somehow caught the flu while he was there. Hes just been taking it easy, trying to get over his illness.

Fabrizio Santos
is still non-stop. The Breeze was up in Vancouver for the Slam City contest, as well. Now that he is at home, Fabrizio is getting ready for his next trip.

Rob G
also attended the Slam City Jam contest, qualifying to the next round of heats after the first day. Outside of the contest, the Popwar team did a couple of demos in the area and also skated a lot of street. They had a filmer from On Video
with them and Rob clocked in some footage while in Canada. Look for a Popwar Ontage in On Video soon!

Lincoln Ueda
is home right now after hanging out in Vancouver skating and autograph signing. While up in Canada, Lincoln participated in the etnies autograph signing session right before his practice, due to some rescheduling of the session. He really came through, because some of our other riders were busy skating the contest at the time.

Carlos De Andrade
ripped at Slam City, acquiring third place for his effortless efforts. Enough said!

Billy Marks
and Josh Harmony
have been skating every day, filming for the Toy Machine video and other various projects and video parts.

Zered Bassett
, along with the Zoo York crew, made an appearance at Slam City to do more than just the contest. The team street skated a lot, filming and shooting photos the whole time. We went out and enjoyed the nightlife a couple of times, and, yes, it was fun.

Tony Silva
didnҒt feel like being at home by himself, so he and I pitched in for a plane ticket to Vancouver. He got to roll around and skate the course with all the other pros and it was good for him to make an appearance and be in peoples faces. It made the Foundation guys very happy to see Tony taking the initiative.

Ryan Sheckler
won Slam City Jam. I donҒt know if that says enough, but this thirteen year old better get used to it.
