Hammer Takes 2nd At Active Rail Jam

Apr 2 2003 / Wednesday

Matt Hammer and John Jackson represented etnies at the Active rail jam contest this past weekend held at Bear Mountain Resort, California. The conditions were sloppy but fun says Hammer. Matt ended up getting second, taking home $1,000, and Jackson placed 5th. They'll be heading back to Mammoth to start filming again with the Standard Film crew for the next couple of weeks.

John Jackson will be heading to Alaska with the Hatchets later this week to hopefully finish his part. John's a little nervous since he's never been up to Alaska.

Markku Koski has been hanging with the Hatchets in Tahoe filming for the last week. He'll be spending another week with them until he heads back to Europe. Markku will be heading to most of the summer camps this summer, including Mt. Hood, Camp of Champions and Garmisch.

Dionne Delesalle will be heading out to Salt Lake City, Utah this week for a Sessions photo shoot.

Nicolas Droz is concentrating on filming for Kingpin this season. His plans are to film as much as possible in Europe, then head out to the States for a month to hit up most of the summer camps here as well as Europe.

Tyler Lepore has been quite the busy bee lately, on the road shredding and representing hard along the way. He's in Whistler right now trying to get as much filming and shooting done as possible since the season's coming to an end pretty soon.

Joni Makinen had a successful surgery last week. He said the doctors discovered more damage in his ankle than they thought and said that if Joni had waited longer to do this surgery he could have damaged it more than he already has. Good thing he decided to go with his gut instincts. Joni will be laid up for the next month and then start his intense physical therapy.

Janna Meyen, Roberta Rodger and B team rider Alexi Waite just got back from a successful photo shoot at a park jam that Shannon Dunn organized called the P Jamma Jam. The girls reported that the conditions were amazing and everyone worked really hard and had fun at the same time. They filmed and shot photos throughout the entire time and they all look forward to seeing themselves on the tube later this fall.

Kevin Sansalone made it back from Quebec last week in one piece, where he won the Jib Jam at the Shakedown and took home $1,000 (Canadian). He's back in Whistler hitting it hard once again and editing some of his footage at the same time.

Wille Yli-Luoma will be filming for the next few months between Oregon and the Rockies. He plans on finishing most of his filming while he's out here in the States so he can spend some quality down time with his daughter back at home later this summer.
