Mike V is doing some autograph signings and demos in the beautiful state of Hawaii for his backpack sponsor, Da Kine. He will be back this week to prepare for his future traveling schedule. The Mike V Farewell Tour is starting in Australia and from there, he and the rest of his board team will be flying to the Slam City Jam in Vancouver.
Elissa Steamer is currently back in Hollywood right now to help out with the editing of the Bootleg video, which is due to premiere on April 18 at the Roxy up in LA. See you there.
Fabrizio Santos, for some strange reason, cant seem stay home for longer than a couple of days. He just got back from Australia, then he and the rest of the ShortyҒs team went to San Francisco last week for a shop autograph signing trip. Now hes leaving to Birmingham, England for the Etnies European Open (along with Jesse Fritsch), then to Brazil to participate in the Latin X Games held in Rio De Janeiro. HeҒll be back home on April 22.
Rob G has been coming through with some amazing coverage. Check out the new Slap! Robs also been shooting with Lance Dawes a lot for both Pop War and Etnies ads. Over the weekend, he shot a blunt to fakie on some harsh quarterpipe in San Pedro at an unfinished skate park that is built kind of like Burnside with raw, uneven concrete.
Chris Lambert is still going out with Bill Weiss to get more footage. Lance Dawes has been trying to meet up, so hopefully weҒll be seeing some photos or an ad soon
Lincoln Ueda is leaving with his wife, who has a broken arm, to go to Brazil until the end of the month to visit friends and family and also to compete in the Latin X Games in Rio. While down there, Lincoln, Fabrizio and Carlos will be participating in various autograph signings put on by our distributor.
Carlos DeAndrade already left for Brazil last week. After Tampa Pro, he decided to leave for the Latin X Games early so that he can visit his special lady friend. When I saw him in Tampa, Carlos said that his ankle was still bothering him and that his skating still wasnt 100%. Hopefully, heҒs been staying off of it for the contest later in April.
Jesse Fritsch has been improving various spots--including a local ditch--with wood and concrete transitions. He also got a sequence of a frontside 180 to fakie 5-0 with Lance Dawes last week at Chris Borsts ramp. No vert guy has shot that trick in a long time!
Josh Harmony has finally settled into his new place of residency down the street from me in beautiful Long Beach with his Toy Machine teammate, Austin Stephens. In the middle of the night last Friday, Josh woke me up to go frontside salad grind a certain rail in town with Mike Burnett from Thrasher. With Josh living closer to me and Tony Silva at my house, youҒll be seeing how us etnies guys get to work. More to come!
Tony Silva nollie full Cabbed the Belmont nine stair thats in the back. Over the weekend, he also switch backside 180d the steps, just to add to his annihilation of the spot. Working with a twisted ankle, Tony will be going to the Phoenix Damn Am contest with me this week.
Zered Bassett just got back from Tampa and Miami five days ago and is enjoying his time at home. HeҒs also trying to recruit more soldiers for the etnies team by introducing me to some of the East Coasts finest. Updates will be made. Other than that, ZҒs been shooting with Reda to try to get a Thrasher thing going--all while working on a full length Big Brother interview, as well. Work, work, work.
Ryan Sheckler is leaving for Arizona this week with the World Industries team for filming purposes, not the Damn Am contest.
Billy Marks legs donҒt work right now--seems he is suffering from jello legs accompanied by a super-bruised heel. Hes been trying to take it easy so that he can skate this weekend in Phoenix. You see, Billy has a title to defend. HeҒs excited about leaving to skate this contest, its going to be a fun one. Oh, and by the way, check out all the coverage that this kid and the rest of the am squad have out right now!
