Chad Reed Takes His Third 250 Race

Feb 18 2003 / Tuesday

- Chad Reed won his third 250cc race of the season last weekend in San Diego! Chad has scored two wins in the U.S. Supercross series and one in Europe for the World Title race. The win puts Reed four points out of first place (with eleven races to go) in the season for the U.S. title. Chad is leading the World Supercross series. - Tim Ferry got a 6th place in the main after a crash set him back a couple places. Tim had two bad crashes last week and was not supposed to race.

- Grant Langston just had surgery on his knee and is, so far, out of the points race in the 250cc class. KTM and Grant are choosing to race the 125 East Coast series that begins this weekend in Minneapolis.

- Mike Brown will also be riding the 125cc East Coast. He raced some of the first West Coast races on the 250cc for some racetime practice.

- Buddy Antunez finished 2nd on Friday night in the 250cc class and 2nd on Saturday night in the 125cc class. He is sitting in 3rd place in the series. Darcy Lang (a flow rider in Canada for two years) is in 2nd place in points.

- Mike Alessi rode the San Diego AM Supercross and went six for six. His brother Jeff, however, is on the sidelines with a broken arm.

- Brian Deegan is still out with a shoulder injury that he suffered before Winter X.

- Fluffer was supposed to come out to Ocotillo Wells on Friday for a video shoot, but separated his shoulder during a demo at the Pomona Speedway on Thursday. Choad showed up in Ocotillo and kicked some serious ass for the cameras. Hes one of the San Clemente groms Cameron Steele created.
