Mike Alessi Wins Another Eight Out Of Eight Races

Jan 23 2003 / Thursday

o Chad Reed finished second behind Ezra Lusk in this weekend's Supercross race in Phoenix. Chad got the hole shot and was up front for sixteen of the twenty laps in the main. Ezra was on his back tire all sixteen laps until Chad made a slight mistake and Ezra got by. Chad finished about one second behind Lusk, and is still in the points lead in both the World and US Supercross series.
o Tim Ferry finished third in the main, so he is tied for second in points with Carmichael.
o Grant Langston was riding good, but had another hard crash on the second lap of the main that left him out for the rest of the race. Grant came down to Etnies on Monday and will be going to get an x-ray on his wrist.
o New European rider Josh Coppins crashed in the practice so hard he dislocated his metatarsals in one foot and split his skin open. He also dislocated one ankle and broke four metatarsals in the other foot. Josh had surgery last week in Phoenix.
o Mike Alessi won another eight out of eight races at Perris raceway last weekend!
o Jake Zemke came down to Etnies to hang out and get some new shit. Jake has been testing for this season's Superbike races and will be at Laguna Seca next week testing his Formula Xtreme bike and his CBR 600. The season starts in March at Daytona.
o Moto XXX lost Kyle Lewis three days before the opening round at Anaheim with a broken wrist. Damon Huffman will be riding in his place for the remainder of the SX season.
o Darcy Lang got two Arena Cross wins in the 250cc class in Memphis, Tennessee last weekend.
