Ryan Sheckler goes to school just like most other twelve year-olds.

May 23 2002 / Thursday

Fabrizio Santos
is back home from Brazil. While in Thailand on a Split tour, he had an accident,
but his stitches and leg are healing up just fine. Fabrizio (and the rest
of the Brazilians on the team) are busy getting their visas for Japan.
Rob G is currently
working on a Cohorts with good friend, Steffan Attardo. Cohorts is a two
to four-page interview in Skateboarder magazine where two friends who skate
together tell the world what they think of one another. There are pairs
of skate buddies all-over the place who are hoping to appear in Cohorts,
so it's quite the hot item. Rob also twice kickflipped the fence that he
switch-180d in an Etnies ad recently.
Chris Lambert just
started skating again after taking a bad slam-appropriately in Slam City.
His hip was literally black and blue and he hasn't been able to skate until
now. He's getting ready to go to Japan and is very excited.
Lincoln Ueda is back
from an EXPN contest in Atlanta, Georgia last weekend where he ended-up
getting 10th place. He's been out of town a lot, attending all the contests
going on all over the world.
Brian Patch was also in Atlanta for the EXPN invitational over the
weekend. He ended-up getting 9th place and said it was a very fun contest
for him. Brian leaves at the end of the week for the Etnies-sponsored Bowl
Riders contest in Marseilles, France. After that, he will be going to the
Cradle event in Austria.
Jesse Fritsch says that he's been skating better than ever, learning
new tricks and still feels that his skateboarding is definitely progressing.
Jesse's been placing in the Top 10 in all the contests that he's entered
lately. He got 6th in Atlanta over the weekend. Keep up the good work, Jess!
Carlos DeAndrade
is also a traveling man. Coming back from the Slam City contest and touring
Western Canada with the World Industry team, Carlos had a couple days to
rest at home and then off to Atlanta, where he got 2nd place. He's now at
home catching-up on some sleep.
Ryan Sheckler goes to school just like most other twelve year-olds.
After Vancouver, he was only in school for a day before I yanked him out
for our am team photo-shoot. Ryan's been keeping-up with the rest of the
boys on the team who are causing havoc, as well as raising hell skating
street. Ryan paid a visit to our Etnies Skatepark BBQ Tour stop at Lake
Elsinore Skatepark, where he and brother Shane skated with the locals. Ryan
also signed autographs while Shane flipped burgers.
Billy Marks and Josh Harmony-These two Toy
Machine ams are on the road right now with Ed Templeton and the rest
of the TM team on a demo tour across the U.S. for the next month. Updates
will be made as their adventure continues.
Tony Silva has been down in San Diego ever since he got back into
town, where he continues to film for the 411 article that will be coming
out in a couple of months. Tony ended-up rolling his ankle on Saturday,
but it's not as bad as the time before when he was on crutches.
Zered Basset was here skating everyday while in town from the East
Coast. He spent a couple of days with Danny Supa up in Venice Beach. Yesterday
he backside 5-0d the top of the Belmont bench two times in a row. It took
him about forty-five minutes to do it, but once he did, he did it again.
