Mike V is the busiest
man alive right now. At the moment, he is planning for the Slam City Jam
and related activities like the USA VS. Canada hockey game, his band Mike
V and the Rats opening a show for The Faction, another premiere of his new
film Drive in the skater lounge, putting Vallely Skateboard banners up at
the contest-not to mention actually skating in the event.
is in Thailand right now with Kenny Reed and Cairo Foster. Last heard, Breeze
fell kind of hard on a moped of some sort, hurt himself and had to go to
the hospital. After Thailand, hes supposed to go to Australia, but
who knows now?
is finally spending some time at home and enjoying every bit of it. HeҒs
going to the mountains soon to do a little snowboarding and get out of the
whole skateboarding environment for a little bit. Carlos deserves it. Hes
getting ready for the Vancouver contest by "not skating" because
he doesnҒt want to get burnt out. A week before the contest, Carlos
will go to Volcom everyday and train for the event.
Chris Lambert has
been hanging out down South skating, shooting photos with Jody Morris and
doing his thing. Chris is pretty much just trying to pile-up coverage in
photos and footage.
Rob G celebrated his
birthday a week ago with his closest friends in Long Beach, it was a good
night. Since theyll be going other places before Slam City, New Deal
team manager Dave Smith is trying to make travel arrangements for his team,
so RobҒs currently got a lot to do. He might be going to Australia
or a Mid-West tour-its all up in the air right now.
Jesse Fritsch just got back from Japan with the Zoo York guys, where
he helped open their store out there. The whole team did a couple of demos
and now theyҒre back. Jesse is preparing himself for a WCS contest
at the end of the month in Texas, then he flies home to pack for Slam City.
Jesse says this is the best he has ever skated in his whole life.
Zered Basset just got back from Japan along with Jesse Fritsch doing
the whole Zoo York thing. Hes got stuff in the new Thrasher video
and all sorts of coverage coming out. Pay attention!
Ryan Sheckler went to Magic Mountain last Tuesday with the Etnies
crew and friends for his 12th birthday (which was actually back in December).
He had tons of fun-it was his first time being tall enough to ride the huge
roller coasters. Ryan has a video part coming out in the new Digital video,
so keep an eye out for that.
Tony Silva has been skating / training since his ankle injury. HeҒs
still not back 100%, but is slowly re-habbing. Tony can do basic things,
but he cant jump down the stuff that he wants to. He leaves for Vancouver
with the rest of his Foundation teammates on the 15th of this month.
Billy Marks just got back from San Francisco. He feebled the sixteen-stair
rail that Arto frontside boardslid. Pete Thompson shot the sequence-enough
