· Brian Deegan
won the big-air contest at X Games qualifier in Detroit this weekend with
another new trick called the One-Handed Super-Can. The contest was part
of the ESPN Moto-X Championship Tour that will air on ESPN and ESPN 2 in
early May.
· Jeremy “Twitch”
Stenberg was at the event in Detroit and overshot the landing of a jump.
He landed so hard, he fell backward pinning the bike into a wall. Jeremy
is in the hospital with a collapsed lung and some possible broken ribs.
He will be there for a couple more days before coming home to recover. Twitch
may get a wild-card to the X Games.
· Cameron Steele has landed a job with ESPN to announce the
Outdoor Nationals. The Nationals start on Mother’s Day at Glen Helen
Raceway in California.
· Travis Elliott and Billy Payne are back in action for Plano Honda.
Both riders rode at Houston on Saturday night. Elliott ended up in 8th place
and Payne in 19th after being taken out by Stewart.
· Jeremy Carter
is back trying to get used to a bike and regain some balance before he starts
jumping. Carter was in a wheel chair for several months-just walking again
was difficult at first. He is trying to get back for a contest in late April.
· Casey Johnson will be back riding again in about two more
weeks. Casey was one of the Plano Honda team’s downed riders.
The next Supercross is April 6th in St. Louis, Missouri; April 13th in Pontiac
Michigan; April 20th in Dallas Texas; April 27th Salt Lake City, Utah and
the final round May 5th in Las Vegas, Nevada.
