Team Nooz

Feb 13 2002 / Wednesday

This week, the majority of the team riders will be visiting Sole Tech
for a meeting regarding revisions and new ideas for the 2003 collection.
The riders in attendance will be Joni
Makinen, Chad
Otterstrom, Kevin
Sansalone, Dionne
Delesalle, Tyler
Lepore, Matt
Hammer, John
Jackson and Risto
Scott. A few of the other team riders will not be able to attend
due to the Olympics and other conflicting events.
Matt Hammer wins
the H20 Winter Classic! Sunday morning February 10th was a chilling experience
for most of the competitors competing in the 10th Annual H20 Winter Classic.
The Santa Anas brought in 60-MPH winds causing the Slopestyle course at
Mountain High to firm up leaving a glare of sheet ice. After a couple of
hours, the sun softened up the course giving the riders a little more enthusiasm
to charge.
Markku Koski
will be competing in the 2002 Winter Olympics Monday February 11th out in
Salt Lake City, UT. If you get a chance, check out the Olympics on channel
4 at 7:30 PM on Monday, February 11th. Good luck, Markku!!!!
Dionne Delesalle
just got back from a night photo shoot out in Montreal with his board sponsor
Rossignol.
Kevin Sansalone
will be taking a few more days to recover from his last injury. He'll be
getting back to the grind as soon as he returns to Canada from the 32 R/D
meeting.
Joni Makinen's
been up in Tahoe filming with the Robot Food Crew. So far, Mother Nature
has been pretty cooperative by providing clear, sunny conditions. He'll
be staying down after the 32 R/D meeting to film at Snow Summit with the
Robot Food Crew for the remainder of the week.
Roberta Rodger
will be heading to Utah for the Opening Ceremonies of the Olympics and getting
back to snowboarding.
Janna Meyen's
heading out to Tahoe to film some more with Mack Dawg. She'll be there for
a couple of weeks just as long as Mother Nature cooperates.
Wille Yli-Luoma
will be in Europe for a few more days since he will have to figure out a
new place to live. As soon as he does, he will be heading back to the States
to film some more with the Robot Food Crew.
John Jackson
and Matt Hammer
have been filming everyday with Standard Films. John pulled off a 270 to
board slide down an 18 stair handrail while filming with the Standard crew
last week.
Tyler Lepore's
been out everyday filming with Kingpin Productions and shooting photos with
senior staff photographers from Snowboarder.
Nicolas Droz
is feeling 100% after the X-games. He's filming everyday out in Europe with
Kingpin and shooting photos. He'll be heading to Vail on the 15th of this
month to compete in the World’s Championship February 20th-24th.
Chad Otterstrom
almost severed his leg last week while filming and shooting photos with
Andy Wright out in Salt Lake City, Utah. Fortunately, he only suffered a
bruise and a slight cut on his leg. He'll be heading back to Salt Lake after
the 32 R/D meeting to get ready to ride again.
