The New Season Is Heating up

Dec 2 2002 / Monday

o Dionne Delesalle has recovered 100% from the laser eye operation he had done a couple of weeks ago. He’s been contemplating on getting this surgery for a couple of years, and he's finally gone through with it and now has perfect 20/20 vision.
o Nicolas Droz recently got back on his board to take some turns and get familiar with the feel of snowboarding again. He's been really busy with organizing his contest scheduled for December 11-15. So far, he's been getting a lot of support from the media, riders and the resort in preparation for the big event.
o Matt Hammer has been riding in Mammoth for the past couple of weeks and getting ready to attack the season with all that he's got. The first contest he'll be entering will be the Triple Crown in Breckenridge, Colorado on December 11-15.
o John Jackson is gearing up for the upcoming season. He'll be competing in the Triple Crown in Breckenridge, as well which should be a great start for the new season. He's also scheduled to compete in a handful of other contests, plus filming with Standard Films the entire season.
o Markku Koski has been riding in Mammoth also, for the past couple of weeks. He came out to get his shred on since Mammoth opened up with one of the best conditions this early in a season. He'll be riding Mammoth until early December and then plans to head back to Finland for the Holidays. Markku will be participating in Nicolas Droz's event in mid-December as a Lib Tech team rider.
o Tyler Lepore has moved all of his belongings to his new house in Whistler, where he'll be based throughout the year. He's getting everything lined up for the season and plans to compete in a few contests in Canada, Japan and here in the States. So far, he's lined-up for the Triple Crown in Breckenridge and a couple of contest series scattered throughout Canada. He'll also be focusing on filming with Kevin Sansalone and Absinth Films for the rest of the season.
o Joni Makinen is in Finland at the moment, getting geared-up for winter. He's been riding at his local resort, Talma, with the entire Finnish mob and seeing a specialist for his shoulder, making sure he’s getting proper treatment.
o Janna Meyen will be heading out to Mammoth later this week to get her shred on, as well. She'll also be competing at the Triple Crown in Breckenridge in mid-December. Her plans this season are to compete in all the Triple Crown events as well as the X-Games. She'll also be making time available to film with Mack Dawg productions.
o Chad Otterstrom has been riding in Colorado for the last couple of weeks and will be competing at the Triple Crown. He'll also compete in the X-games and Slope Style in Japan.
o Roberta Rodger is in Canada, anxiously waiting for the resorts to open. She plans on spending about a week in Whistler and then plans to head out to Salt Lake for another few weeks thru December.
o Kevin Sansalone is working on his schedule for the season in which he plans to film all year in an effort to pursue his video project, Skids 3, and also compete in a handful of events such as the Slope Style in Japan and Triple Crown in Breckenridge.
o Wille Yli-Luoma is in Switzerland with his daughter at the moment. He'll be there for a couple of weeks spending some quality time with her just before the madness kicks in around mid-December. He'll be pursuing his filming schedule with Robot Food, along with competing in a few events such as the Slope Style and The Battle.
