Chad Reed Dominates Sydney Supercross

Oct 22 2002 / Tuesday

• Chad Reed dominated the Sydney, Australia Supercross over the weekend. He won all three of his heat races, the semi final and the main event. Reed was riding so fast, he lapped everyone up to third place rider in the main event.
• Mike Alessi scored eight out of eight moto wins to take the overall in the 85cc 14-16, 85cc open, supermini and 125 schoolboy classes at the CMC Transcal at Perris raceway. The Alessi family is moving from Moorpark to the high desert, where they bought a lot of property so they can build some outdoor and supercross tracks.
• This weekend was the first X-Games qualifier in Reno. About fifty riders showed up to the event, which was held at a truck stop in Reno. Brian Deegan blew a head gasket in practice and was not able to ride in the finals. Clifford Adoptante was also not able to ride due to food poisoning the night before the event. OX, Carter, Fluffer, Twitch and Pastor were some of the riders sporting Etnies.
